Taking control of your chaotic inbox

For those of you struggling with the chaos of your inbox, here are five simple tips to help you achieve a clutter-free inbox and restore some peace to your digital life. 1. Unsubscribe from Unwanted Newsletters We’ve all been there—subscribed to a newsletter you thought you’d enjoy, but now it just feels like digital junk mail. Take a few minutes to unsubscribe from the ones you no longer read. Most emails have an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom. 2. Set Up Folders or Labels Create categories for your emails—work, personal, bills, receipts, etc. This makes it easier to find important messages while keeping your main inbox clear. 3. Use Filters & Rules Set up filters or rules to automatically sort incoming emails into the correct folders. For example, all promotional emails can go straight to a “Promotions” folder, or work-related emails can head straight to your “Work” folder. Less sorting for you means less stress. 4. Archive or Delete Old Emails Be honest with yourself, do you really need to keep every email you’ve ever received? Probably not. Take some time to archive or delete old, irrelevant emails. The “archive” function is a great way to keep emails without them cluttering up your inbox, and deleting unnecessary ones helps you start fresh. 5. Schedule Email Check-In Times Instead of checking your inbox every few minutes, schedule specific times in the day to review and respond to emails. This way, you won’t get bogged down by constant notifications and can focus on more important tasks. With a little organisation and consistent maintenance, you’ll feel more in control of your digital space.
